Unnormal Curved Penis ( Peyronie’s disease )

It is not uncommon for a man’s penis to curve a bit when it is erect. The degree of the curve varies from man to man, but usually it does not cause any discomfort or interference with sexual activity. If a very pronounced curve occurs, the condition is called Peyronie’s disease, named after the French surgeon, Peyronie (1678-1747).

Peyronie’s disease is characterised by a plaque, or hard lump, that forms on the penis. Medical examinations localise a calcification of the connective tissue sheets surrounding the spongiest eretile tissue.

This calcification makes the tissue plaque shrink and develops a shorter side compared to the opposite side of the shaft of the penis, whereas the erectile tissue is causing the penis to curve. Peyronie’s disease begins as a localised inflammation and as the disease progresses, the pain subsides, and then fibrous tissue develops, causing the penis to curve to the left, right, upward or downward.

Experts claim that no strong evidence shows that any treatment other than surgery or treatment with The Original Jes-Extender is effective in cases in which the deformity prevents painful erections and difficulty with intercourse. The majority of cases of Peyronie’s disease are generally curable.
